Bohaunowitz (Czech: Bohouňovice) is a location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

Background

Bohaunowitz is a village in the Kuttenberg region.

Historical context

Bohaunowitz is a historic village dating to the begin of 14th century.

Bohaunowitz is first mentioned in 1325, where it is stated that Wenceslas and Martin of Bohaunowitz resided there. This information is also corroborated by a deed of sale dated 1333. The sons of these two men, Martin (Maresh) and Pešek of Bohaunowitz, are listed as patrons of the church in the vicinity of Pechky between 1370 and 1397. In history, the lords of Bohaunowitz and Pechky are related by having cohabited as owners.

In December 1402, Bohaunowitz probably suffered the arrival of Sigismund's army which attacked and destroyed the village of Raborsch. In 1403 the village was weakened by the civil war.

Another member of the family, Maresh, nicknamed "Sak of Bohaunowitz", is mentioned in 1406 in Kolín, where he appears as a witness in a deed relating to the village of Mnichovice (today Zálabí). He is probably the founder of the noble family Sak of Bohaunowitz, which survived until 1720, when it had become a family of counts.

The construction date of the fort Bohaunowitz is unknown with the missing archives, only mentionned in 16th century but probably existed more before.

Between 1414 and 1564, there is no mention of the Bohaunowitz in the available archives...
