Historical context
Devil's Den is a historic settlement established during the Middle Ages. Limited information exists about its early history, but by the 16th century, it featured a small settlement centered around a tavern known as Zavadilka.
The tavern gained a notorious reputation over the centuries as a gathering place for prostitutes, bandits, and vagabonds engaged in illicit activities. This infamy has persisted into modern times, with the site still regarded as a place to be avoided.
