Detailed walkthrough

Fortuna starts immediately after the events of Easy Riders, with Hans Capon assisting a delusional, injured Henry on his shoulder. He brings him to a secluded cabin in the forest. Hans implores Bozhena, who mistakes them for Pavlena, to help Henry with his wounds. While Bozhena examines Henry, one of their pursuers forces his way into the cabin and attacks Hans. Despite his extensive injuries, Henry observes Hans tackling the attacker outside before losing consciousness.

Unconscious and bleeding, Henry experiences vivid flashbacks of the events of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. He awakens to the sight of Bozhena, whom he briefly hallucinates as his mother. As reality sets in, Bozhena explains the events of the previous night, including how Hans was gravely injured during the struggle with the intruder. Before attending to Hans' wounds, Bozhena instructs Henry to bandage himself, wash at the tub, and eat to regain his strength. Due to the extensive injuries, the player character has lost several main levels, skill and perk points, which Henry will have to recover and regain throughout the game.

Taking stock

The player character begins the scenario equipped with six bandages, though only four are necessary to fully restore the torso's condition. Additional resources are located nearby, providing ample opportunities to replenish supplies and recover. In the room adjacent to Hans and Bozhena, three additional bandages can be found. Food resources are abundant in and around Bozhena's cabin. A food pot is placed directly in front of Henry's bed. On the table outside the cabin, players can collect two apples, a weak Savior Schnapps, and a loaf of bread.

The cabin also contains valuable items. In the loft, players will discover a container with a medium-level lock located on the left side. Additional supplies are scattered throughout the cabin, including piercing arrows, a marksman's kit, and a tailor's kit. Inside the cabin, Henry can pray for Hans. Outside the cabin, the bastard responsible for attacking Hans and Henry can be found to the left. After Henry has tidied himself, he can speak to Bozhena. She notes that Hans was severely injured in his fight with the brute.

Collecting herbs and burying the bastard

To aid Hans, Bozhena wants to administer the same Lethean potion previously used on Henry. However, before this can be done, she needs to reduce Hans's fever. To achieve this, she requires a chamomile decoction. Bozhena instructs the player character to gather fresh sage and chamomile to prepare the remedy. Additionally, she remarks on the unsettling presence of the bastard's body outside and requests that the player character move it near the creek and bury it.

If the player chooses to gather the herbs first, Henry recalls that the required flowers grow in sunny areas. Sages are identified by their purple blossoms, while chamomiles have white petals with yellow centers. These flowers can be found in a meadow accessible by following the footpath behind the hut, which leads through sandstone cliffs. The sage is located immediately to the left upon entering the meadow, while the chamomile is further ahead, near a small rock close to the cliff. Nettle can also be found in this area.

If the player chooses to bury the body first, a spade can be found on the fence post next to the body. Henry may also loot the bastard's belongings without any consequences. The player must pick up the body and carry it to a location near the stream, which will be marked on the map. A dig prompt will appear in this area. Once the grave is dug, the body can be placed inside and buried.

The player can decide which objective to complete first. However, if Henry gathers the herbs without burying the body, the pursuers waiting at the cabin will become immediately hostile.

Dealing with Mikesh and Kozliek

Conversely, if the body is buried first, Henry can interact with the pursuers, Mikesh and Kozliek, who claim to be von Bergow's men. They assert that they are searching for the "renegades" who ambushed Henry the previous day.

The player has several dialogue options to deal with the pursuers:

  • Tell the truth and claim Henry is a messenger
  • Lie and say they are searching in the wrong place
  • Lie and claim Henry already sent them away
  • Intimidate them and demand they leave

If Henry fails the intimidation check or tells the truth, the pursuers will attack. If he succeeds in lying or intimidating, the men will retreat. Henry must head back to Bozhena to be healed. The player character can tell her the truth, or not. Regardless, she will ask the player to brew the chamomile decoction themself, as Pavlena has not returned yet. To brew the potion, Henry will have to follow the steps below:

  1. Pour in the wine.
  2. Add two handfuls of chamomile.
  3. Lower the cauldron, turn the Sandglass and wait for it to drain.
  4. Raise the cauldron.
  5. Grind a handful of sage and throw it into the cauldron.
  6. Pour the potion into a phial.

Bozhena will ask Henry to bury Mikesh and Kozliek if they were killed nearby Bozhena's cabin, near the stream where the bastard was previously buried. Like earlier, the player character must pick up the body and carry it near the stream, which will be marked on the map. A dig prompt will appear in this area. Once the grave is dug, the body can be placed inside and buried.

After both tasks has been completed, Henry can go back inside to get a good night's rest. Once again, the player character experiences vivid flashbacks of the events of Kingdom Come: Deliverance; of Radzig Kobyla and Istvan Toth. Henry is then abruptly awakened by Pavlena, who had come in the night. She remarks that Hans is awake, maybe too awake. She checks on Henry's condition, and asks what dreams he had, since Henry had screamed during his sleep. Regardless of what the player answers, Pavlena will invite Henry to the table for breakfast along with Bozhena and Hans.

Breakfast at Bozhena's

At the table, Hans greets the player character. Henry observes that Hans appears livelier than before. Hans acknowledges this improvement and comments that it is the third time Henry has saved his life, which sparks Pavlena's curiosity about their past exploits. Hans and Henry then recount their adventures in Kingdom Come: Deliverance: the player character may choose to share either the full story or an abridged version.

After the conversation, Hans declares it is time to move on, and Henry returns Bozhena's spade. As a token of gratitude, Pavlena presents the player character with a weak Savior Schnapps as a parting gift. After a brief exchange, Bozhena provides Henry with spme Groschen and food for the journey. Arriving at the castle following a short montage, the castle guards dismiss them as beggars and deny them entry, forcing them to leave.

Hans and Henry return to Troskowitz to reassess their situation and determine their next course of action, beginning Laboratores.

Trivia

  • Tobias Stolz-Zwilling noted that the two choices for recounting Hans and Henry's deeds are intentional. Players familiar with the game or its story can opt for the abridged version, while those new to the game can select the full explanation to better understand the narrative.[1]
