Background

Horschany is a village in Kuttenberg region.

Historical context

Horschany is a historic village established in the late 13th century, with its first recorded mention in 1299 as part of the Sedletz Monastery's holdings under the stewardship of Markvart Šik. Between 1303 and 1309, ownership of the village transitioned to Markvart’s sons, Albert and Kuna, who became its burgher proprietors.

By the early 15th century, the village was under the control of Čeněk of Horschany. In 1404, following Čeněk’s presumed death, the estate was managed by the guardians of his son, Nicholas of Horschany. Nicholas formally became the owner of Horschany in 1412.
