Lackey is a side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Quick walkthrough
- Find the huntsman Vostatek.

Detailed walkthrough
The player can begin this quest by visiting Gamekeeper Vostatek’s house, located west of Tachov near the Vidiak Pond fast travel point. During a conversation with Vostatek's wife, Zlata, she reveals that Vostatek has not returned home, likely due to being drunk after a hunting trip. Agreeing to assist her will start the quest. To gather more information, the player can speak with her son, Vitek. Although Vitek expresses frustration with his father, he will reveal Vostatek’s possible location if the player uses Speech, Charisma, or Dread persuasion skills to convince him to take the disappearance seriously, or by offering him money.
Carrying Vostatek to camp
Vitek’s directions help narrow the search area. The player should proceed north toward the lake by descending the steps west of Vostatek’s house and following the path north along the waterfront. In the southwest corner of the search area, Vostatek can be found perched in a tree, hiding from a pack of wolves. The player must eliminate the wolves to rescue Vostatek. During his attempt to jump down, he will break his ankle and request the player to carry him back to his hiding spot.
At this point, the player is presented with several options and dialogue choices:
- "I’ll help you." and take Vostatek back to his house – Ends the quest early by returning him directly home.
- "I’ll help you." and follow his objectives – Allows the player to carry Vostatek to his preferred locations, continuing the quest.
- "You’re on your own" – Refuses assistance, leaving Vostatek behind and failing the quest. Vostatek will die if the player leaves him behind.
With Vostatek in tow, the player should head north along the lake until a fallen tree appears on the left. Here, Vostatek will ask to be dropped off at an anthill further north. Continuing along the path, the anthill can be found on the left. However, Vostatek will change his mind again, requesting to be taken to a nearby tavern in either Troskowitz or Zhelejov.
Regardless of the player’s choice, Vostatek will soon request to head even further north to a birch tree. Upon reaching it, he will insist on continuing the journey in search of his horse, Pepik. Following the path north leads to Vostatek’s camp. The player should place him down and initiate a conversation, during which he will ask the player to fill his waterskin bottle to help him sober up.
Finding Pepik and returning to the house
After sobering up, Vostatek will request that the player locate his horse, Pepik. The player may choose to accept or decline this task. If accepted, the player must follow tracks and clues on the ground, interacting with them to update the objective and reveal the correct path. Eventually, the player will encounter a group of poachers camped near some rocks. These poachers have captured Pepik, and the player must eliminate them to retrieve the horse.
With Pepik recovered, the player should return to the hunter’s camp and speak with Vostatek. He will propose heading back to his house and ask if the player wishes to ride with him or meet him there later. Choosing to ride with him leads directly to the house, where a cutscene begins. In the cutscene, Zlata and Vitek discuss Vostatek’s adventure with both the player and Vostatek. The quest concludes following this conversation.
