Lost in the Woods is a side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and requires the DLC From the Ashes. A few days after the completion of Baptism of Fire, Sir Divish will ask Henry to search for his Master Locator, Marius, who is several days overdue from his inspection of Pribyslavitz.

Background

There's been talk that Sir Divish has grand plans for the ruined village of Pribyslavitz now the bandits have been driven out. And his plans started to involve me when he send me on a quest to find a missing man he'd sent there.

Simple walkthrough

  • Find Sir Divish's locator
    • Join Marius on his survey of Pribyslavitz.
      • Talk to the Locator
        • Take the letter to the Rattay Bailiff.
          • Get the Bailiff to make the public announcement.

Detailed walkthrough

Talking to one of Marius's kidnappers

After learning about Marius and Divish's hope to rebuild Pribyslavitz, head up to the village to search for the missing Locator. Marius can be found inside the former bandits' camp, where four bandits are holding him captive in one of the tents. Deal with the bandits either by intimidating them, bribing them for 2000 Prague Groschen, or simply kiling them. Once this is done, untie Marius.

Marius will still need to conduct his inspection - the player may either let him do this himself or follow him to learn more about what he has planned. Once Marius is finished, he will discuss what is needed in order to rebuild the settlement.

Marius assesses what is needed to rebuild.

At that moment, Sir Divish will arrive and commend Henry for resolving the problem. The player will have the option to tell him they paid a ransom whether or not this actually happened, in which case Divish will compensate Henry with 600 Prague Groschen. Marius will then explain how to go about rebuilding, warning that while it will eventually be profitable, there will be a significant upfront cost, perhaps even in the tens of thousands.

The Bailiff makes his announcement

Sir Divish, keen to get started right away, announces that he has already spoken to Radzig and Hanush. They have all agreed to offer the people of Rattay and the refugees of Skalitz the opportunity to move to Pribyslavitz and help reconstruct it. He then appoints Henry as Bailiff, with a few conditions - the church must be rebuilt, the village must be self-sufficient, and Henry must treat his new people well. Otherwise, Divish will rescind Henry's position as Bailiff as well as the village itself. Additionally, Henry will need to pay all the upfront costs himself.

To formalize the proceedings, Divish gives Henry a Bailiff's mace and his written announcement, which must be taken to Rattay and given to its Bailiff. The Rattay Bailiff will then take the announcement outside and make a public declaration, formalizing Henry's appointment as Bailiff of Pribyslavitz.

Strategies

  • The bandits will not believe Henry if he claims he wants to join them. Picking this dialogue option will immediately cause them to attack.
  • Failing an intimidation attempt on the bandits will not immediately trigger a fight, merely cause them to blow off Henry.
  • At night, two of the bandits will sleep at a time, while the other two will sit by the campfires. This will make it trivial to defeat them all by stealth as long as the player waits for the awake bandits to split themselves across two different campfires.
  • Divish is easily convinced to give the player the 600 Prague Groschen, though it is possible to fail this with low Speech.

Notes

  • Ending this quest will remodel Pribyslavitz, despawning all the items associated with it when owned by Runt's army.
  • The player does not actually need to speak to Sir Divish to start this quest. It can also be triggered by traveling to Pribyslavitz after Baptism of Fire, for instance to retrieve some loot.
    • In this case, Henry will encounter the bandits and notice they are holding someone hostage. Additionally, the conversation with Marius will be different, and he will provide more background info than if the quest is initiated by talking to Divish.
  • Interestingly, Divish promises Henry the proceeds from the first 5 years after renewing Pribyslavitz, but his announcement offered tax exemption for everyone who resettled into the hamlet for the same duration, effectively cheating Henry out of his "reward".
