The Pillory of Silver Skalitz was situated near the local marketplace. The charcoal burner used to set up his carts and sell his goods next to it.
In a time where people rarely left their home village, being exposed as a criminal in front of your friends and neighbors would have been incredibly embarrassing and caused a large amount of social ridicule and ostracisation. Luckily, a small and peaceful village like Skalitz did not need to use their pillory very often.
