Raborsch
Raborsch (Czech: Ratboř) is a location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Background
Raborsch is one of the ruines in the Kuttenberg region.
Historical context
Raborsch is a historic village dating to the begin of 12th century, with a fort that has undergone several ownership changes and developments.
The first trace of the village dates back to 1115, when Raborsch was part of the property of the Benedictine monastery Kladruby near Stschíbro. The official date remains 1352 in one report.
The Domain of Raborsch is owned by Mikuláš Velkúš from 1362 - 1386, a rich burgher from Kuttenberg. In 1389, the domain was owned by Mikuláš Křičbír of Doleo but became a property of the royal court of Bohemia and thus to King Wenceslas IV as odúmrť (property returning to the crown in the absence of heirs).
In 1393, Martin Oderin, a burgher from Kuttenberg, became the lord of the Domain Raborsch. And a new priest of the church of Saint Wenceslas is named Kříž. In December 1402, Sigismund camps on the Elbe river near Kolin and sends letters to encourage all Czech lords to come and help him besiege Kuttenberg.
Martin Oderin refuses to submit to the usurper king. King Sigismund orders the great military assault of the Cumans and Hungarians on the region of the cities of Kolin, Podebrady and Kuttenberg with 20,000 soldiers. Raborsch was attacked a few days later. The village is pillaged, the fort is destroyed and the church is burned, a violent battle took place.
Lord Martin Oderin had to flee with the rest of his garrison but did not give up, but priest Kříž is only mentioned in 1402 as the end of his role, or he died. Raborsch was so devastated that the income of 10 kop groshen that was intended for an altar in Kuttenberg, had to be transferred to the Suchdol Domain in 1405.
