Sir Radzig Kobyla's sword is a weapon used in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It is held in Henry's main hand and classified as a longsword.

It represents the last promise Henry ever made to his father, Martin - to deliver the sword to Sir Radzig - and the shame he feels at not being able to save his family. Most of his actions as part of Vengeance are part of an attempt to retrieve it.

Description

The sword my father made for Sir Radzig Kobyla.

How to Obtain

The sword is crafted during Unexpected Visit. After fetching the necessary charcoal and crossguard, Martin and his son Henry assemble the blade and present it to Sir Radzig. Sir Radzig, along with the visiting Sir Istvan Toth, admire the fine craftsmanship and praise Martin for his skill, even letting Henry take a few practice swings.

Henry and Martin forge Sir Radzig's sword

However, that day the village would be attacked by King Sigismund and his general, Sir Markvart von Aulitz, who would kill Martin, along with many of the other villagers. Henry takes the sword and flees to Talmberg during Run! When Henry returns to Skalitz to bury his parents in Homecoming, he is ambushed by a gang of bandits led by Runt, beaten half to death, and the sword is stolen. Henry later pledges his allegiance to Sir Radzig and promises to return the blade to its rightful owner.

During On the Scent, Henry learns that Runt no longer carries the sword. He is later able to track down Runt and demands to know where it is during Baptism of Fire, but the bandit commander refuses to tell him, laughing as Henry beats his head into the ground.

Sir Istvan taunts Henry with the sword

Later while infiltrating the bandit camp of Vranik in The Die is Cast, Henry finds the sword in very unexpected hands - those of Sir Istvan Toth, who has been in the employ of Sigismund all along, and has orchestrated the bandit raids that caused so much misery. He attempts to take the sword back, but is attacked by Sir Istvan's lackey and knocked out.

When he comes to conscience, Istvan reveals his plan, and a secret that everyone has kept hidden from Henry. Although Henry has been badly beaten, he swears he will get the sword back and use it to kill Istvan.

Notes

  • Despite appearances, this sword is absolutely mediocre in terms of damage, defence and durability especially compared to the plethora of weapons in the later game (after Henry learns how to properly use a sword).

Trivia

  • The box art of the game features the sword held by presumably Henry.
  • The player can use the sword until the end of the quest Homecoming, where it then becomes unobtainable outside the use of console commands.
  • The closest longswords in appearance would be the Robber's sword, appearing similar but more worn, with a different curved crossguard; or Longinus' sword, clean and shiny, but with a straight crossguard.
  • In previous versions of the game, during the Nightmare scene preceding the Homecoming quest, Henry would be equipped with a non-quest item version of Radzig's sword, and could store it, and return to claim it later. Radzig's sword was swapped out for a Robber Baron's sword in later updates.
