Welcome to the Administration Board

Welcome to the administration board! This is where wiki administrators can post site notices, updates, and for users to contact administrators through the noticeboard.

What is an admin?

An administrator is a user with special rights over administration and management of the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki. There are several ways to contact the administrators: leaving a talk page message for any active admin, contacting them through the wiki's official Discord server, or leaving a message on the admin noticeboard.

An admin's roles

Admins have the power to...
  • Protect pages
  • Delete pages and images
  • Deletion review and undeletion of pages
  • Suspending or banning users
  • Implementing certain policies
  • Editing protected and restricted pages
However, they should not be treated as or be like...
  • A dictator who imposes rules unilaterally without community input
  • A janitor who is expected to fix every small problem or clean up after every user
  • An infallible authority who is treated as if they never make mistakes or as if their decisions cannot be questioned
  • A gatekeeper who intimidates new editors and fosters a closed, friends-only community
Instead, admins should be treated as and act like...
  • A community leader who helps maintain order and fosters a positive environment
  • A mediator trusted to handle conflicts fairly and impartially among users
  • A facilitator who is encouraged to help others contribute and grow within the community
  • A collaborator who is engaged in discussions and decision-making with other members

How do I become an admin?

Every so often, users are asked if they wish to become admins or users may ask to be considered for the role. Alternatively, users can request the position of adminship if the user thinks that it is necessary to their future work or projects, and is ready for the responsibility. For further information, see the rights request policy.

Administrators

Parts of this section have been transcluded from the Warcraft Wiki admin page.

System administrators

This is the system administrator (sysadmin) responsible for setting up and maintaining the wiki's infrastructure. This includes managing the server it runs on, overseeing the internet connection, handling payments, and determining the software used. All major decisions regarding the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki's infrastructure are deferred to the system administrator.

In the case of the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki, Wiki.gg serves as the system administrator, with the technical aspects (technical system administrator) managed by Wiki.gg's technical staff.

Wiki administrators

Wiki administrators (Sysops) are day-to-day administrators, also known as a member of the "Sysop" wiki user group, who handles various tasks such as making special changes (locking pages, blocking users, restoring deleted pages, large-scale rollbacks, importing pages, etc.). This is the user to contact when you encounter a problem, and they are responsible for resolving disputes and enforcing policies.

Most active or semi-active administrators can be reached through their talk pages or via Discord.

  • Arcaneous (talkcontribs) – Better known as Arc, this user is a highly-active administrator on the wiki, working on everything in general from articles to categories. Just don't ask him to touch the wiki's CSS.
  • Racek Kobyla (talk • contribs)
  • Skysteam (talk • contribs)

Administrator noticeboard

The administrator noticeboard is a board for users to notify administrators of issues requiring administrative attention. Users are also welcome to directly contact specific administrators. Remember to sign when posting an issue.

Vandalism Reports: Posting here should be a last resort. If you encounter vandalism, your first action should be to revert the edits, as any user can do so. If the vandal has created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on the user's talk page to explain the reason for the revert. Only post here if the user has made several disruptive edits or continues despite a warning. Always avoid engaging in a revert war with the vandal; it is better to wait for an administrator to intervene.

Creating a New Request – Vandals
  1. Edit the Vandal Reports section.
  2. At the top of the list, enter the vandal's IP address or username, provide links to their Special:Contributions page.
  3. Provide a short and neutral summary of the issue, and sign your report with your signature.
Creating a New Request – Non-Vandal Cases (e.g., User Issues, Page Protection/Undeletion, etc.)
  1. Edit the Other Reports section. Add a subsection and enter an appropriate title related to the subject matter.
  2. In the edit field, enter a short and neutral summary of the issue. Refer to users involved in the case by entering their username, and provide links to important pages or edits, as well as their Special:Contributions.
  3. As a courtesy, leave a message on the talk page of any involved user.
