Historical context
Bylany is a historic village established alongside Kuttenberg in the 12th century. It has a long history of noble ownership and religious affiliations.
The village was originally under the control of the noble Cimburk family. Miroslav of Cimburk donated Bylany and its surrounding fields to the Sedletz Monastery during the 12th century. Bylany was later governed by several noble families. Before 1371, the estate belonged to Ditlin Kint, a local noble. After 1371, ownership transitioned to Henslin. Then, before 1384, Tycz, a noble scribe from Kuttenberg, became the administrator of the village, marking a period of local governance tied to Kuttenberg’s administration.
