The padded coif is an armour item in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and is classified as a coif. It comes in seven varieties.
Description
The padded coif is usually worn as a helmet liner but can be worn alone as basic head protection in combat.
How to Obtain
- All variants except the green and red one may be looted from guards, cumans and bandits
- During the day, the red and green variant can be found in a chest inside the top floor of the stone garrison tower in Rattay. The garrison tower is the closest to the church, to the north of it.
- The red and green variant can be found in the Rattay guards' trunks while they sleep
- The grey (fourth) variant can be found in very easy chests in Talmberg castle's guard tower (accessible via the walkway) or the weapon storage on the nearby battlements (climb the stairs near the gate and make a right)
Sold by
- All variants except the green and red one can be bought from armoursmiths and tailors
Worn by
- Six copies of the green and red variant are worn by Rattay guards
- Sasau Guards (Black variant, Brown variant, Red variant)
- A Bandit in a Bandit Camp in the woods South-West of Pribyslavitz, North-West of Charcoal kilns of Rovna(Black variant, Brown variant)
- A Bandit in a bandit camp located in the wooded cliff North of Treasure XVI location, near two Birds nests. The camp is a part of the Activity Interlopers(2 weight variant, Red variant)
Notes
- Historical Accuracy: The lightest models of the padded coif with ties were indeed suitable to be worn alone, and were common for everyday wear among commoners (though they were gradually seen as unfashionable in the later Middle Ages and usually not padded.) The two heavier models are somewhat misrepresented - while they would not be found as standalone headwear, they are reasonable interpretations of padded aventails often worn with helmets. These however would be attached to their respective helmets and serve as both a liner and a padded base for a mail aventail if present - in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, they were likely kept separate to support the multi-layered clothing system.
