Aachen dark brigandine is an armour item in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and is classed as a body plate. It comes in two varieties. The dark brown variant provides the best compromise between protection and stealth capabilities and is therefore an essential item iin stealth armour builds.

Description

The bringandine is a type of armour made of small steel plates riveted to a stiff, tough fabric or leather lining. The segmentation of the armour gives the wearer greater mobility.

How to Obtain

Notes

  • These armors have a decent balance between defensive capacities and stealthing ability.
  • Historical Accuracy: The Aachen brigandine in Kingdom Come Deliverance is modeled after the so-called "Leeds brigandine", a design dated to c. 1470 Italy and named after the Royal Armoury at Leeds where it is stored. Brigandines of this type are characterized by a wasp waist, many small plates, and the characteristic trefoil rivet pattern, and they were commonly depicted in manuscripts some decades prior to the extant model. However, as a rule they were rare in Germany and the rest of the Holy Roman Empire, and they were more advanced than the brigandine types which would have existed during Kingdom Come Deliverance by around 50 years. Historical brigandines also tended to have brass buckles and rivets, as iron ones as shown in-game would be more at risk of corrosion.
