Description

A battle axe with a metal-plated handle. A nimble battle axe that can pierce most armour with a metal-plated handle that can stop many a blow.

Notes

• As opposed to the Axe of the same name, this axe appears to be constructed for use in combat. The short wooden haft is thick and well rounded. The axe head is socketed on, and reinforced with langets on both sides parallel to the blade; providing increased reinforcement for both haft and blade in combat. The blade is of common war axe variety for the time, appearing quite similar in appearance to a hatchet blade. Attatched to the rear of the blade, there is a small prying hook, used for grappling with armored foes. The axe also has a large spike affixed to the tip above the axehead, used for poking through small holes in an opponent's armor. It is an effective weapon against all but the most heavily armored of foes.
