Andrew Straw, commonly called Old Straw, was a woodcutter at Merhojed.

Biography
According to Old Straw, he had lost his other three children, two girls and a boy, who all died young. His only living child, Mojmir Straw, was killed in the attack on Merhojed that preceded Questions and Answers, and one of the bandits was captured by the villagers.
He was heartbroken by the loss of his son, to the point he could not care for his wife, who was suffering from the plague. When Henry entered his house, he was so grief stricken (and drunk) that he thought Henry was there to kill his wife. Henry assures him that he is there to help, and goes to check on Straw's wife, who has a fever. Henry is able to find a cure for the pestilence, but he also cures the hated bandit.
During the interrogation, Old Straw burst in with a knife, intent on ending the life of the man who killed his son. Henry can step aside and let him have his slow vengeance on the brigand, or he can convince him to let him live to face justice.
If, however, Henry fails to quickly find the correct cure, Straw's wife and possibly the bandit will die. Old Straw either leaves the town, or passes away himself.

Notes
- If you fail the speech or intimidation check with Old Straw, you can not exit combat by fleeing. You will be forever stuck in "searching" combat mode until you either find Straw and defeat him, or reload an earlier save. Considering he is likely to get stuck, lost or glitched in chasing you over a long distance, this can be very problematic.
- Sometimes after fighting Old Straw, he will lie down in bed and die.
- If you ask random villagers about the plague, they will mention that Old Straw has a brother who also suffers from the sickness.
