The Remedy for Merhojed, also called the Merhojed remedy in the herbarium, is a type of potion in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Potion Description (Effects)

A remedy that should cure all the infected.

Crafting (Correct Version)

Recipe

  • It should be noted that the Correct version of this potion is Water based, not Spirits based. Henry will learn it from Brother Nicodemus in the quest Pestilence, but only by selecting the (correct) ailment "Poisoned Water".

Ingredients

Herbarium

  1. Pour Water into cauldron
  2. Add two handfuls of Thistle
  3. Boil for two turns of the Sandglass
  4. Add Valerian
  5. Boil for one turn of the Sandglass
  6. Allow to cool fully
  7. Add charcoal
  8. Collect using phial

There is a second version of this potion. Other than providing 5 energy and being worth 0.1 Value less, they seem identical. However this is the version you will brew if you select the incorrect ailment. It will always lead to the death of the villagers.

  • The incorrect version also unlocks it's Herbarium Recipe when brewed, but will be deleted and replaced with the correct version of the Recipe in Herbarium if the correct version is brewed afterwards. The incorrect Recipe will not be unlocked in the Herbarium at all if the correct version has been brewed. Henry will learn it from Brother Nicodemus in the quest Pestilence, selecting any other (incorrect) ailment than "Poisoned Water".

Ingredients

Herbarium

  1. Pour Spirits into cauldron
  2. Add two handfuls of Valerian
  3. Boil for three turns of the Sandglass
  4. Allow to cool fully
  5. Grind the Wormwood in the Mortar and Pestle
  6. Add the ground Wormwood, and do not boil
  7. Collect using phial

Notes

  • When prompted in the quest Pestilence to create this potion at the Alchemist's bench, you may acquire one that you created beforehand, or spawn one in using console commands.
  • If the player creates the incorrect version of the Recipe, turns to the Recipe's page in the Herbarium, and then creates the correct version without exiting the Alchemist's bench, the Herbarium's pages will turn blank, and become unusable until the player backs out and accesses the Alchemist's bench again. The Herbarium will then be functional again, and only the correct version of the Recipe will be available. The incorrect Recipe will not be unlocked in the Herbarium at all if the correct version has been brewed.
  • There is a known "bug" where administering the remedy to the people of Merhojed still results in their death. This is because if the player doesn't complete the two optional objectives "Investigate the plague in Merhojed" and "Speak to Mattias", and opts to skip straight to Johanka at the Monastery, the game will always fail the curing effect, even if you do diagnose the correct cure.
    • In short, talk to the villagers about the ailment, complete the "Investigate the plague in Merhojed" and "Speak to Mattias" steps, select "Water Poisoning" with Brother Nicodemus and make sure the potion you brew uses Valerian, Thistle and Charcoal, has a value of 11.1 and provides 0 energy. Then the villagers should always survive.
