Detailed walkthrough
After taking care of Reeky in the previous quest, Henry now has to find Timmy, the strong but stupid member of the gang. Reeky stated that Timmy is probably hiding at the windmill south of Merhojed, so head there to look for him. Once the player gets there, the farmworkers will confirm that Timmy has been missing for a few days, but suggest to speak to Mirka, Timmy's sister.
At first, Mirka will deny knowing anything about Timmy's disappearance. However, convince her you don't want to hurt her brother, and she will ask to meet her behind the windmill. There, she will reveal that Timmy is hiding at the Kolben's farm, before running away as four dangerous looking bandits surround Henry.
Meeting Morcock
The bandit leader Morcock immediately questions Henry. From here Henry may confess or deny that he is looking for Timmy. Attempting to intimidate them into leaving at this step will provoke a fight, while being passive will cause Morcock to continue the conversation as usual. At this point, several options will open for the player.
The player may demand money upfront to share information whether they actually intend to. This will prompt Morcock to give Henry 225 , although he will not reveal the location of the bandit's camp until Timmy is dealt with. Additionally, if Henry takes the money, Morcock will no longer believe that he does not know where Timmy is. This will force the player to admit he is at the Kolben's farm, convince Morcock he is in Rattay, or simply attack the bandits. If either peaceful option is chosen, Morcock will be skeptical but investigate, leaving Radan to watch over Henry.
Siding with Morcock
If the player tells Morcock the truth, he and two other bandits will immediately set off towards the Kolben's farm where they will kill Timmy. Afterwards, they will head to the Samopesh Inn. Either follow them to the farm, or meet them at the Inn.
If the player lets the bandits kill Timmy, or if they kill Timmy before the bandits get there, Morcock will give another 225 at the Inn. He will then ask why Henry was looking for Timmy in the first place. The player must then pass a stat check with Speech or Badassness to remove Morcock's suspicions. Otherwise, Henry will have no choice but to reveal he was searching just to turn the bandits over, prompting Morcock to attack.
If the player was successful in persuading him, Morcock will then offer to recruit Henry for a job. Refusing will cause him to leave peacefully, but prevent Henry from gaining more information about the bandit camp location. However, showing interest will cause Morcock to reveal the location of the bandit's lair: the abandoned village of Pribyslavitz. Follow the stream north-east of Rovna in order to find it. Before leaving, ask Morcock for his name to say who sent you, and you can go to Pribyslavitz and walk around unmolested.
Infilitrating Pribyslavitz early
From here the player is suggested to immediately report to Sir Radzig, which will successfully end the quest. However, they may also head directly to the camp. If Henry gets there before Morcock, one of the other bandits will question him. Mention who sent you and he will invite you to sit with him until Morcock arrives. Once Morcock shows up, talk to him and have a drink while he gets the chief.
It soon becomes clear that Runt leads the camp, as the other thugs can be overheard whispering about his murderous exploits. Unfortunately, Runt is not here, only his second-in-command. Even worse, Morcock overstepped his authority when he "recruited" Henry, and Runt's second-in-command orders Henry killed. Get out as fast as possible and report back to Sir Radzig near Merhojed.
Siding with Timmy
Alternatively, instead of helping Morcock, the player may deny knowing anything and persuade him to leave with a Speech check, giving time to go to Timmy unaccosted. The player may also simply attack Morcock and his bandits so that they cannot kill Timmy. In any case, head over to the Kolben farm west of Merhojed and speak to Timmy. He will clumsily deny any involvement in the Neuhof massacre and will require persuasion that Henry is not one of Runt's bandits.
If successfully persuaded, Timmy will reveal the vague location of the camp, and Henry will have the option to let him go or attempt to arrest him. Picking the latter will cause Timmy to violently resist, forcing Henry to kill him. However the player deals with Timmy, they must next head to Sir Radzig's camp, just west of Merhojed.
Final report to Sir Radzig
Whether Henry entered the bandit camp or just learned its general location, Sir Radzig will reward him with 300 . He will then ask Henry to formally infiltrate the camp and sabotage it before the Skalitz men launch an attack. This will begin Nest of Vipers.
Strategies
- The Intimidate option will always work on Mirka. However, it will always fail on Morcock if trying to get him to leave early.
- Asking any of the other mill workers about Timmy will unlock the option to tell Mirka that they mentioned she is his sister. This persuasion option will also always work.
- The easiest method to kill Morcock and his men is to tell them Timmy's location and attack them while they are on route. Radan will pose little challenge by himself, and the rest are spaced far enough to provoke individually.
- Because entering Pribyslavitz with Morcock will blow Henry's cover, it is recommended to save this for after reporting to Radzig.
- If the player fails an Intimidation attempt on Timmy, he will start a fistfight with Henry. Drawing your weapon will immediately end it. The player may also simply beat him until he surrenders.
Notes
- Waiting too long to speak to Mirka after she gets behind the windmill will prompt her to resume her schedule. The player must then ask her again to share information.
- Killing Mirka will not fail the quest, but it will prevent the player from encountering Timmy or Morcock. Instead Henry will remark that he must now find the bandit camp by chance.
- This quest branch also occurs if both Timmy and Morcock are killed before they can give Henry any information, or if the player refuses Morcock's recruitment.
- Killing Timmy will cause Mirka to refuse to work at Pribyslavitz in the From the Ashes DLC.
- Morcock and his bandits will not be flagged as hostiles if directed to Rattay. They will idle in town without fighting the guards, and will not confront Henry for his ruse.
- Despite saying he will give Henry "two dozen" groschen, Morcock will give Henry significantly more even on Hardcore mode.
- While the outcome is the same, Henry will have a slightly different conversation depending on the first Pribyslavitz NPC to stop him on entry. He will converse normally with a bandit and clumsily with a Cuman.
