Kingdom Come: Deliverance features a Reputation system by which players can determine their standing with a particular city or faction. Reputation can be altered by many things including moral choices made by the player when answering questions, or the agreement or disagreement to complete specific tasks for individual NPC's whether they be story or side-quests.

Reputation is currently tracked at these locations:

Explanation

Most of the towns and villages in the game that have a reputation system split it into multiple categories for each of the demographics residing within that area. For example Henry's reputation in Talmberg is split between how highly the Talmberg soldiers think of him, and how well regarded Henry is among Talmberg villagers and quarrymen. Henry's reputation with a specific demographic is based on the sum of how each individual in that group feels towards Henry, while Henry's overall reputation with a village is derived from how high Henry's reputation is with each demographic from that area. The benefit to having a high overall reputation within a village is that Henry will receive bonuses to his four main stats while in the vicinity of that village, provided Henry also has the Local Hero perk.

Not every single person in a demographic needs to like Henry in order for his Reputation to reach 100, only majority popularity is required. For example: Henry's reputation in Skalitz during the prologue is at a perfect 100 at the start due to enough people from each demographic already liking Henry to provide majority popularity, even though not everybody in town likes him. However assisting Mathew in vandalizing Deutch's house will hurt Henry's reputation with Zbyshek as an individual and decrease Henry's standing among the Skalits villagers demographic, therefore hurting Henry's overall reputation within Skalitz. Also failing speech or intimidate checks on Kunesh will lower Henry's reputation with him as an individual and therefore negatively impact the reputation among the Skalitz villager demographic, while succeeding in the speech check against him will raise Henry's reputation with him as an individual and counterbalance most of any negative reputation Henry may have gained so far in the prologue.

When Henry upsets an individual, be it by dialog, by attacking them, or by being caught stealing from them, Henry's reputation with that individual will fall and therefore negatively impact his reputation with the demographic that individual is apart of, which will also impact Henry's overall reputation with that village. Henry will also inadvertently offend individuals by pursuing certain quests, for example completing the activity Fat Profits for the Sasau butcher will raise Henry's reputation with the butcher but also greatly harm Henry's reputation with the monastery monks.

Gaining Reputation

Traders

Henry's reputation with every trader in the game as an individual person will be at a neutral 50 at the start since many of them do not know Henry yet, therefore Henry's reputation with the Rattay trader demographic will also begin at 50. Only Rattay has a separate demographic for tracking reputation with traders, as every other village has their traders condensed within the villager demographic. If Henry's reputation with an individual trader turns negative, than that individual will be less willing to haggle with Henry while trading. Henry's reputation with an individual trader will be increased every time Henry closes a transaction with that individual, and therefore contribute to Henry's combined reputation with the demographic from that area. The player will be able to see Henry's reputation with any given trader on screen while dealing with them.

If you want to build up your reputation with an individual trader quickly, sell your items to that merchant one at a time. The reputation boost is per transaction, not per unit. Henry will also receive reputation with a trader by accepting lower prices on sold items when the trader does not have enough money to cover the full cost of the items Henry is selling. Henry can also receive a reputation boost with a trader by selling an item and haggling one step cheaper before closing the deal.

Rattay Soldiers

Henry's reputation among Rattay guards is subject to the most scrutiny. If Henry is ever seen committing a crime, his reputation among the Rattay soldiers demographic will fall in great bounds as opposed to the small doses that are typical of upsetting individuals. When Henry's reputation with Rattay soldiers is low, guards will be much more likely to stop and search Henry. Henry's reputation with Rattay soldiers can be slowly increased by:

  • Helping Rattay soldiers during random encounter battles with bandits.
  • Performing successful speech or intimidation checks against guards that try to stop and search Henry, which will raise Henry's reputation with that individual guard and contribute to the demographic reputation.
  • Impressing Captain Bernard through quest dialog will raise Henry's reputation with Bernard as an individual, and reporting success in the quest Ruin to him will greatly improve Henry's reputation with the soldier demographic.
  • Advancing the main quest line and winning the battle of Pribyslavitz will provide a large boost to Henry's reputation among Rattay soldiers.
  • Winning the Rattay Tourney will make Henry famous and greatly increase his reputation with all demographics within Rattay. Repeatedly winning the tourney will quickly max out Henry's reputation in Rattay.
